Prayer For You
A prayer for you.
Father I ask you to bless my friend reading this right now!
Lord show them a new revelation of your love and power.
Holy Spirit I ask you to minister to their spirit at this very moment.
Where there is pain, give them your peace and mercy.
Where there is self-doubting release a renewed confidence in your ability to work through them.
Where there is tiredness, or exhaustion, I ask you to give them understanding, patience, & strength as they learn submission to your leading.
Where there is spiritual stagnation, I ask you to renew them by revealing your nearness, and by drawing them into greater intimacy with you.
Where there is fear reveal your love, and release to them your courage.
Where there is sin blocking them, reveal it, and break its hold over my friends life.
Bless their relationships, and help them forgive others as you have forgiven them.
Meet their financial needs, give them greater vision, and raise up leaders, and friends to support, and encourage them.
Give each of them discernment to recognize the enemy around them, and reveal to them the power they have in you to gain victory.
I ask you to do these things in Jesus name!
God Bless You!
Prayer For Your Prayer Life
Help me, Lord, to develop a strong prayer life. I know you desire intimacy with me, and you want me to watch with you and pray (Matthew 26:40). Yet, I never seem to find the time to pray in a deep, fervent, consistent, persistent way. What draws me to my knees the most is when I have a problem, when I want something from you, when I need your help. I’m flipping through my calendar, stressing with commitments, and you just want to hang out – with me. Help me turn my prayers into conversations with you that keep flowing throughout the day, an on-going communication where I never say “Amen.” Keep me close to you, no matter what it takes. I’m not sure I really want to pray that; I have bruises and scars from “whatever it takes” discipleship, but, then again, I confess the crush of these moments have taught me to throw myself on the stone before the stone falls on me. And that has moved me closer to the love that compels my obedience, closer to becoming one with your heart. So, I’m asking that you change me until my deepest want is to be with you. With this I pray that you will make me worthy of my calling and that your power will fulfill every good purpose you plan for me and energize everything I do in faith. My prayer is that your life will emerge in my face and in my hands, in my thoughts and in my words. I know your grace will make it so (paraphrase of 2 Thessalonians 1:11-12, NIV).
Disciples Prayer
I cannot say 'our' if I live only for myself in a spiritual, watertight compartment.
I cannot say 'Father' if I do not endeavor each day to act like his child.
I cannot say 'who art in heaven if I am not laying up treasure there.
I cannot say 'hallowed be thy name' if I am not striving for thy name.
I cannot say 'thy kingdom come' If I am not doing all I can to hasten that wonderful day.
I cannot say 'thy will be done' If I am disobedient to His word.
I cannot say 'in earth as it is in heaven' If I will not serve Him here and now.
I cannot say 'give us...our daily bread' If I am dishonest or an 'under the counter' shopper.
I cannot say 'forgive us our debts' If I harbor a grudge against anyone.
I cannot say 'lead us not into temptation' If I deliberately place myself in it's path.
I cannot say 'deliver us from evil' If I do not put on the whole armor of God.
I cannot say 'thine is the kingdom' If I do not give to the king the loyalty due Him as a faithful subject.
I cannot attribute to Him 'the power' If I fear what men may do.
I cannot ascribe to Him 'the glory' If I am seeking honor only for myself.
I cannot say 'forever' if the horizon of my life is bounded completely by the things of time.
Help me surrender all of me to you in Jesus name Amen.
A Grandparent's Prayer
Lord, what joy you have brought into my life through the grandchild(ren) you have given me! Thank you!
Lord, you know the concerns I have for him/her/them, especially now in the growing up years. Concerns for health and physical safety. Concerns for growth in knowledge and useful skills. Above all, concerns for a vibrant relationship with Jesus, our Savior.
Lord, you love my grandchild(ren) even more than I do-though that scarcely seems possible. I can ask for nothing better than that your good and gracious will, would be fully done in their lives. Give me wisdom in knowing what to say-and when to say nothing at all. Make me an encourager and a faithful witness to your law and especially to your love and forgiveness in Christ-each at its proper time.
Thank you, Lord!
In Jesus Name, Amen.
A Teacher's Morning Prayer
Lord Jesus, As I begin a new day in your name, I thank you for entrusting the children of my class into my care. The responsibility would overwhelm me, if you had not invited me to rely on you for strength and wisdom. In the busy-ness of today, give me peace. In the frustrations of today, give me patience. In the stresses of today, help me see the humor-and your blessings. Channel my excitement into productive lessons. Channel my anger into productive actions that show your kindness. Channel my love for you into productive witness. Touch my students with your love through me. Touch their parents and caregivers with your love through me. Touch my supervisors and colleagues with your love through me. Let my day honor you as I live in your love for me and in the security of your cross.
In Jesus Name, Amen.
Office Prayer
Lord Jesus, as I enter this workplace, I bring your presence with me.
I speak Your Peace, Your Grace and Your Perfect Order into the atmosphere of this place.
I acknowledge Your Lordship over all that will be spoken, thought, decided, and accomplished within these walls.
Lord Jesus, I thank you for all the gifts you have deposited in me. I do not take them lightly, but commit to using them responsibly and well.
Give me a fresh supply of truth and beauty on which to draw as I do my job that you have provided.
Anoint my creativity, my ideas, and my energy so that even my smallest task may bring you honor.
Lord, when I am confused, guide me. When I am weary, energize me.
Lord, when I am burned out, infuse me with the Light of Your Holy Spirit.
May the work that I do and the way that I do it, bring hope, life and courage to all that I come in contact today.
And, oh Lord, even in this day's most stressful moments... may I rest in You.
In Your strong and powerful name I pray,
Jesus Christ, Amen.
